Listen & Look to the Lord
Part 1 of 4: So as I walk today, I really feel the Lord is emphasizing to be still and wait on him and listen even as I walk. As I've been praying in tongues every single other time, now he is just asking me to be still and listen.
Part 2 of 4: So as I am walking along, I am listening to the Holy Spirit. What I sensed him saying was to look to the Father, look to Jesus, don't look to myself and only look to the signs in the natural when he tells me to. So I just receive that word, Lord, in Jesus name, Amen.
Part 3 of 4: And as I looked to Jesus, I saw him as he was asleep in the boat. I remembered him saying to the disciples that he rebuked them for their lack of faith, because they're looking at the storm and the winds, and he's right there. I mean, he calmed the storm and the winds, but he was in the boat with them, sleeping perfectly at peace, and if they'd looked at him, they would have also been at peace because the more we look at him, the more we become like him. So let us keep our eyes upon him that's in the boat, and not upon the storm.
Part 4 of 4: As we look at Jesus in that boat, of course that is a picture of us, and the Lord is in the boat. He's within us. He's in my spirit. He's in our heart.
When Jesus spoke, he spoke first to the weather, the invisible forces. And he muzzled them. He said, be silent. And he spoke to the waves, and he said, be still. So he spoke to the spiritual forces behind it first, with authority. And then he spoke to the natural, releasing his peace. So Jesus himself said, my peace I give to you, not as the world gives, give I unto you. Do not let your hearts be troubled. Do not be afraid.
So as we look upon Jesus doing this in the natural, in the spirit, then what is in him starts to be formed in us.
This is how the process of sanctification works.
Unlike the world, it doesn't come by effort, it doesn't come by trying, doesn't come by programmes. It comes by looking at him, by a mysterious holy mystery, we become like him.
Just by having revelation, he's revealed. As he's revealed, we become like him because the Bible says, you know, about the glory of God to reveal and conceal things. So the glory of God is when his nature is revealed. And we have to behold him first before we get anointed for power. Beholding him. Hallelujah.
So we look at him and we see that as we look at Jesus, he spoke with authority to the spiritual realm, and the storm ceased. And then he spoke with that tender pastoral lovingkindness. He spoke peace - Shalom - in the natural. And the water stilled and he rebuked them for their lack of faith. Faith. Faith that comes by hearing the word - He is that word - And hearing by the word of God.
And even as I came out today, what I had heard from the Lord at home, in my journaling, he said, listen that you will hear, and hear, that you will obey. Lord have mercy. So Lord, help us to hear. Help us to listen that we'll hear. Help us to hear that we'll obey. Help us, Lord, to look and gaze upon you Jesus. Help us to gaze upon you Heavenly Father. Help us to hear what the Holy Spirit directs us to and not be so self-conscious looking at ourselves and not be distracted in the natural either. That we would look at the Christ who had the authority over the storm, and he had the peace to bring in the natural in Jesus name.
